Project Description

Co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund of the European Union and Greek national funds through the Operational Program Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation (EPAnEK) 2014-2020, under the call RESEARCH–CREATE–INNOVATE (project code: Τ1ΕΔΚ-02712)

Start Date

04 June 2018

Duration

36 Months

Development of processes and technology control for the creation of chains of utilization of locally available biomass in North Macedonia in order to meet the needs of local district heating systems in the facilities, the use of heat from lignite plants that are in the process of being shut down must be replaced.

The object of the DISHEAT project was the use and organization of the use of biomass, on the one hand, in large district heating systems such as that of DETEPA, and, on the other hand, in uses outside of heating networks, as DETHIP and DETEPA are planning to implement.

One of the objectives of the project was to document the crops of the study area using satellite imagery in geographic information systems and to accurately calculate the available biomass in order to achieve an optimal supply chain organization and cost reduction (representing more than 70% of operating costs), both for large applications and for decentralized small applications.

The project ``Development of procedures and technology validation for the creation of locally available biomass value chains in W. Macedonia in order cover the fuel needs of the local district heating systems in order to replace the use of heat from lignite power plants that their shutting down in eminent.
